I was energized by a large mug of Jacob’s Wonderbar, so my first night at work flew by. Or maybe it was ‘cause I was in a great mood because my work husband gifted me with some homemade headcheese and pork rillettes. Pork presents always make me smile.

I wasn’t super hungry so I snacked on a packet of Grass Fed Jerky Chews, a hard-boiled egg, and some carrots and dips midway through my shift.

When I got home from work, I squealed with joy because my real hubby, Fitbomb, had dried a fresh batch of grass fed beef jerky overnight to bring with him to the CrossFit Games.

I sampled a big handful of his new recipe and also ate the leftovers from yesterday’s lunch.

Since I was making braised chicken drumsticks with artichokes and pearl onions for dinner, I seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper, and Sunny Paris and stuck the legs in the fridge.

BTW, thank you PaleomomRX and L (from my CrossFit Palo Alto women’s class) for reminding me about this quick and tasty dish!

Afterwards, I wished Fitbomb a safe drive down to SoCal and went to bed. No need to alert CPS – my parents are staying with me for a few nights and watching the kids while hubby is out of town. Sheesh!

When I woke up in the evening, I baked the braised chicken

…and stir-fried some baby spinach with minced garlic in coconut oil.

Here’s my dinner plate:

Even though my eats were quick and yummy, I’m totally envious of Fitbomb’s supper at my sister’s house. I totally want her to feed me some homemade grilled sausage and homegrown veggies!

After dinner, I tucked the kids in bed, removed and iced the flank steaks from the SousVide Supreme, and packed my meals for work. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time for double-unders. Boo! There’s always tomorrow…

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
