Wow! We had so much fun on Sunday! Here’s how we spent the day…

When I got up this morning, I strolled down to Phil’z Coffee and filled up two large thermoses from home with Tesora brew (with heavy cream and no sugar). I think I intentionally got less than 6 hours of sleep so I’d have an excuse to feed my new addiction.

At home, I heated up a couple leftover sous vide Turkish meatballs, sautéed spinach, and Portobello mushrooms for breakfast.

After breakfast, we all piled into the car and drove down to Aptos to spend the day chilling at the beach with HA and R.  HA’s family was staying at a beach house that’s literally ACROSS THE STREET from the ocean, and they were kind enough to host us for the day.

The kids had a blast building sand castles and frolicking in the water…

…and the adults just chillaxed.

For lunch, we grilled some sausages, sous vide Turkish slider burgers, and assorted veggies on the front patio.

We also had some Indian-style smoked salmon that Fitbomb picked up at the San Francisco Ferry Building Farmer’s Market:

After our meal, we soaked up some rays, synthesized mucho vitamin D, and laughed our way through the afternoon. Although we were sad to leave the fun company and gorgeous surroundings, hubs and I had a date night in San Francisco planned with our best pals, S & J.

We drove home and then dropped the kids off at my parents’ place before heading to Locanda for a fabulous Paleo-friendly dinner. (Read about our meal here.)

We didn’t make it home until after midnight, so I sacrificed blogging (gasp!) to get some much-needed shut-eye before tackling Murph the next morning at CrossFit Palo Alto. See? I have my priorities in order.

(Did it pay off? Well, judge for yourself.)

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
