So: who’s doing the August Whole30® starting Thursday?
If your hand is raised, you’re not alone. Tons of folks are cleaning out their pantries of all the bad stuff and getting ready for a month of clean, whole, nutrient-dense foods. No matter if you’re doing it for the first time or the twelfth, this month will give you an improved sense of how different foods affect the way you feel.
Having experienced a few Whole30s, I know the road can be a bit rocky at first, but there are tons of incredible resources available, from Dallas and Melissa Hartwig’s It Starts With Food to Melissa Joulwan’s flavor-popping Whole30-approved cookbook, Well Fed. The Whole9 site offers a ton of links to August Whole30 resources, too—including PDF guides and the awesome Whole30 Daily.
Got my iPad app? If so, hit the Whole30 button, and it’ll display over over 100 of my Whole30-approved recipes. Plus, it’s got interactive guides, a customizable shopping list, fully-emailable recipes, and a comprehensive 30-day Whole30 meal plan.
Don’t have an iPad? You can find some nifty free resources on my site, too. Here’s a link to my January post on prepping for a Whole30…
…and here’s my collection of 30 days of Whole30-friendly recipes, complete with tips for navigating a month of super-clean (but still delicious!) eats.
I wrote my series of daily Whole30 posts back in January, but in the half-year since, I’ve posted a slew of new recipes on my site, too. In reviewing them, I realized that with the exception of two chocolate-y desserts (Mexican Chocolate Pots de Crème and Chunky Monkey “Ice Cream” Bon Bons), EVERY SINGLE RECIPE I’ve posted this year is Whole30-compliant! (That’s part of why I’m not doing the Whole30 this August—I actually eat pretty close to Whole30 year-round!)
So without further ado, here are a dozen more Whole30 recipes to add to your collection:
Doro Wat (Spicy Ethiopian Chicken Stew)
Mango + Avocado Salsa on Pan-Seared Salmon
Smashed Steak Skewers + Cherry Barbecue Sauce
Swiss Chard with Pine Nuts, Raisins, + Porkitos
(By the way, if you’re new to my site and thinking about doing the Whole30, go check out my Recipe Index for more recipes—the vast majority of ‘em are Whole30-friendly!)
Even if you’re not diving into a Whole30 in August, these recipes are good, clean eats that you can turn to when you feel like making something guiltlessly tasty and healthy.
And for those of you who are embarking on the August Whole30:
