When I woke up this morning, I wanted to make a few items from my new cookbook, Mark Sisson’s Primal Blueprint Quick & Easy Meals.

I made a batch of Nutty Strawberry Protein Balls

…and a soufflé frittata with leftover collard greens and pancetta.

For breakfast, I scarfed down the frittata, a nutty protein ball, and a big dollop of coconut butter.

When I finished breakfast, we drove up to San Francisco to celebrate the birthday of our best friends’ adorable son, M. Our kids rejoiced at the sight of all their favorite foods (Pizza! Cupcakes! Chips!) and I was content snacking on some almonds and chatting with my pals. Really. I was stuffed from breakfast so I wasn’t hungry the whole time I was there.

After we returned home, though, I was famished. I nuked myself some leftover garlic cauliflower mashed potatoes and slow cooker pork pot roast and inhaled it.

Hubby (who had been fasting all this time) experimented with making savory coconut pancakes and topped one with the slow cooker pork pot roast and sliced avocado.

At dinnertime, I was too tired to make anything fancy. I stir-fried some kale with pancetta and calcot onions…

…and fried up some bratwursts.

I plated the brats and greens with some Farmhouse Culture smoked jalapeno sauerkraut.

That’s it for my chow!

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
