Most Americans choose chicken if they’re gonna eat something with a face. However, finding poultry at the grocery store that’s raised and slaughtered under optimal conditions is almost impossible unless you know the farmer personally.

Luckily, the folks at want to change the status quo. If their Kickstarter gets funded, they’ll develop a free, easily accessible mobile database that will list every poultry producer and welfare standard, and help consumers understand what those confusing marketing terms (e.g. organic, free-range, natural, etc.) really mean. They aim to make buying poultry completely transparent. Amen.

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
