Paleo Eats: 11/15/11

All of us in the Nombomb household were groggy again this morning. Ick. Vacation hangover lasts a loooooooong time.

I loaded up with a sad-looking, solitary scrambled egg fried in butter…

…before heading to the women’s class at CrossFit Palo Alto.

Post-WOD, I ate some canned pumpkin sprinkled with cinnamon along with a few slices of Applegate Farms organic roast beef.  I just cracked open a can of pumpkin puree and ate it hobo-style right outta the tin. Yes, the extra BPA really does add that special something.

For lunch, I reheated Dr. HA’s leftover curried butternut squash soup…

..and I took out a package of ground antelope (Fit Daffy recently gifted us with a kickass, game meat variety pack)…

…and threw it in a skillet with coconut oil, minced garlic, chopped onions, and Chili 9000 seasoning and made a batch of emergency protein.

I nuked some frozen broccoli, topped it with the seasoned meat, and chowed down.

I’d never eaten antelope before and, frankly, it tastes just like lean beef. That’s a good thing for those of you who don’t like “gamey” meat. Just so you know, you guys are a bunch of pussies compared to Charles and Julie of Paleo Comfort Foods. Charles just bagged his own bear and they’ll be cooking it up once it’s processed. Hell, I’m a big pussy compared to them.

For dinner, I fried up a package of merguez sausages from 4505 Meats and stir fried some julienned spigarello in the spicy grease.

Here’s my dinner plate:

Ack! My vacation is officially over tomorrow. Boo!
