Paleo Eats: 10/28/11

I’m tired and cranky ‘cause I ruined our macro lens by dousing it with olive oil – don’t ask! –but I’ll still share my eats because I’m not going to punish you for my own dopiness.

For breakfast, I fried up a package of merguez sausage from 4505 Meats and I chowed on one with some leftover oven roasted tomatoes.

I went to the women’s class at CrossFit Palo Alto and came home to eat a nuked yam as a post-workout meal.

At lunchtime, Lil-O and I went to my parents’ place. They informed me ahead of time that they were eating congee and their microwave oven was busted so I brought my own LunchBots thermal filled with leftover roasted broccoli and bacon, sous vide pork tenderloin, roasted tomatoes, and mushroom gravy.

After I picked up Big-O from school, the kids and I hopped on a train bound for San Francisco. We met Fitbomb at work, piled into his car, and drove to our besties’ house for a homemade Paleo dinner.

J is a badass in the kitchen and she specifically made us a Paleo-friendly, gluten-free meal. She roasted a juicy pork loin with a mustard and herb crust…

…baked potato french fries…

…tossed a green salad with cherry tomatoes and toasted almonds…

…and pan-fried Brussels sprouts with bacon.

The meal was fantastic and we had a wonderful time catching up with our buddies!

Really, what’s more important in life than good eats with great peeps? Certainly not a ruined camera lens.
