Hello, party people!

Did anything interesting happen in the Paleosphere while I was away? Maybe checking out my eats will make everyone less grumpy and contentious. Peace and love, peace and love.

Before I zoomed over to Lil-O’s co-op for my biweekly stint as a participating parent, I gobbled up some leftover bratwurst, pan-fried cauliflower, and sauerkraut.

After a busy morning monkeying around with preschoolers, I headed back to our dusty house to make myself lunch.

Unfortunately, the refrigerator was completely empty except for a can of crabmeat and a couple of eggs. I didn’t even have any butter on hand – the horror. I grabbed a bag of frozen broccoli out of the freezer and wrangled up the protein to make myself a super quick scramble in macadamia nut oil.

For seasoning, I sprinkled in some salt, pepper, and Penzeys Parisien Bonnes Herbes.

I tucked the scramble in a couple of Pure Wraps and gulped them up.

After the boys were finished with their extracurriculars in the late afternoon, we picked up our veggie CSA box from Mariquita Farm and headed back to the hotel.

Once there, I took out two packs of chicken drumettes and seasoned them à la Damn Fine Chicken (subbing 1 heaping tablespoon of Penzeys Adobo Seasoning for the alliums).

I let the chicken marinate while I preheated the oven and gave my two filthy kids a bath.

Once the kids were sparkly clean and planted in front of electronic babysitters…

…I finished making dinner.

I popped the chicken in the oven…

stir-fried kale and bacon

…and pan-fried cubed kohlrabi with Red Boat Fish Sauce and coconut aminos.

If you’re wondering what kohlrabi tastes like, it’s pretty similar to broccoli stems when cooked.

By the time I was finished with the veggies, the chicken was finished roasting.

Here’s my dinner plate:

Time to put a dent in my sleep debt…good night!

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
