Quote from Mindy Kaling that reads: "Finally, a cookbook full of delicious, healthy recipes for someone like me: a woman who has no time, several picky children, and a limited ability to cook!"

Complete the Nom Nom Paleo Cookbook Trilogy!

Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go! is a follow up to our first two New York Times bestselling cookbooks, Nom Nom Paleo: Food for Humans and Ready or Not!. If you’re a fan of our first two cookbooks, I know you’ll love this one as well. (Maybe even more!)

By now, you all know that I don’t mess around when it comes to my cookbook recipes. It took me years of recipe testing and tweaking to deliver this mouthwatering collection of fool-proof, crazy-delicious dishes. And as you know, my husband Henry and I work as a team—I do the cooking and writing while Henry does the photography, book design, and cartooning. Not surprisingly, our cookbooks take A LOT of time (it’s been almost 4 years since the last one!) because we DO ALL THE THINGS, but we think the results are worth the wait.

Like our previous cookbooks, Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go! is a visual feast of step-by-step photos, fun cartoons, and cheeky humor. It’s a collection of internationally-inspired, umami-packed dishes that just so happen to also be grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free.

What’s the theme of Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go!?

One of the most common questions I get about Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go! is “what’s the theme or ‘hook’ for this cookbook”?

In all honesty, there is no single catch-all theme this time around—this book is just a deliciously authentic snapshot of the globally-inspired dishes I love to eat right now.

That said, because we completed the cookbook during a momentous year in which we all lived through a LOT—most notably a worldwide pandemic and a renewed focus on racial injustice—I wanted this book to serve as both a reflection of the comforting dishes we savored while in quarantine and a celebration of the immigrant food cultures from my childhood growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A year spent in quarantine taxed us all both physically and mentally, so with that in mind, I worked to create fast, easy, and comforting recipes to combat kitchen fatigue and uplift our spirits, such as Sheet Pan Italian Chicken and Singapore Noodles.

I also included fancier, more complicated fare for those occasions when we just want to lose ourselves in the cooking process, like Shoyu Ramen and Cantonese Pipa Duck. And to perk up our palates, I created some indispensable flavor boosters like Nom Nom Chili Crisp and Umami Stir-Fry Powder (a Cantonese-spin on my Magic Mushroom Powder). Add these magical enhancers to literally any combination of protein and veggies and you’ve got yourself a winning dish in minutes!

Quote from Gregory Gourdet: "Michelle and Henry have done it again! Tapping into their heritage and some of our favorite global flavors, these dishes are packed with savory fun!"

What’s in the book? How’s it organized?

Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go! features a colorful, fun, family-friendly comic book format for visual learners of all ages and skill levels, featuring cute cartoons and step-by-step photos that guide home cooks through each step of every recipe. Similar to our first cookbook, Nom Nom Paleo: Food for Humans, the chapters are categorized by the type of dishes.

Text box that reads: "140 paleo recipes, 103 Whole30-compatible recipes, 63 keto-friendly recipes, 55 vegetarian or vegan recipes, 10 instant pot recipes"

By popular demand, we made sure to include lots of plant-based and seafood recipes in this cookbook. I know many Nomsters are incorporating more veggies and seafood in their daily fare—us included—because paleo eaters aren’t just a bunch of carnivores.

This time around, I also flexed my paleo baking muscles (pandemic stress baking is real, people!) and created healthier versions of some global classics. Some of my favorite sweet treats in Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go! include:

Dan Tat (Hong Kong Egg Tarts)!

Craving even more details about what’s in our new book? Go here to get a sneak a peek at the complete list of recipes! I’ve included some new Nom Nom Paleo classics like Wonton Meatballs and Pot Stickers, but the vast majority of the recipes are brand-new and exclusive to Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go!

Step-by-step photos for every recipe!

You’ll never be left wondering how to follow my recipe instructions because we crammed over 1,800 step-by-step photos and illustrations into Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go! If a picture’s worth a thousand words, then this book contains almost 2 million words!

Special Diet Categories and Nutrition Facts!

Every single dish in this cookbook is free of gluten, grains, dairy, soy, refined sugar, legumes, and not-great-for-you cooking oils. In addition, I know many of you have health-related eating needs beyond paleo, so each recipe in this book is accompanied by labels indicating whether it’s also Whole30-compatible, keto-friendly (which to us means it has 10 or fewer net grams of carbohydrates per serving), egg-free, nut-free, vegetarian, or vegan.

Also, for the first time, I’m also including estimates of calories, carbohydrates, protein, fat, and fiber in each recipe!

Kid-Friendly Design!

All of our cookbooks are secretly designed to appeal to kids—with the technicolor design, visually engaging recipe layouts, and goofy jokes—and we leaned into that even more with Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go!

PSA: You may need to order more than one copy of this cookbook because there’s a strong possibility that your kids will steal your copy!

We hope you love Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go! as much as we do. This is our passion project, and perhaps more than even our other books, it reflects the food I grew up loving and eating—and the dishes that reflect who I am now. I’ve found myself returning to these recipes over and over again—and I hope you will, too.

Preorder Nom Nom Paleo: Let’s Go!

I generally avoid asking my readers to buy stuff from me, but with the launch of my first cookbook in four years, I hope you’ll preorder our new cookbook at your favorite bookseller!

Preorders are incredibly important for the success of a cookbook—they’re a good indication of consumer interest in a book, so the more people preorder, the more likely retailers will stock copies of the book. Publishers will also have a better idea of how many cookbooks to order for printing. And most importantly, preorders help us get more people excited about our book!

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.

  1. I didn’t even read the newsletter email – just saw that the cookbook was ready for pre-order and scrolled straight to the link. I’ve cooked every single recipe in the first two cookbooks and at least 100 more from the blog and app, so you know I’ll be cooking through this one too. Thank you in advance! Now I’m gonna start feeling around for friends and family who will want it as a Xmas present!

  2. I’m really excited about the launch of your new cookbook, Michelle! Approximately what percentage of the recipes in the new cookbook, and also your two previous cookbooks, are keto-friendly?

    Thanks so much!

  3. I pre-ordered in April, I think! I am so excited for this book. I have #1 and #2 and an archive of saved faves from your website.

I have been following you since 2009 and I’ve never had a recipe fail. And if bread or rice or noodles are an appropriate accompaniment, I just make it to go along with whims of kids and husband.

The cheeky and humorous yet informative illustrations and sidebars in your books have piqued the interest of my children, and they are more willing to try new foods and branch out beyond grilled chicken and plain rice. My middle kid now loves salmon and chawanmushi. High five to you, Michele, for doing the impossible!

  4. Congratulations to the Nom Nom family! We have the first two books and love them. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, my husband and I have 5 boys ages 19, 16, 14, 12, and 9. The question I hear the most is “What can I have to eat?” Thanks to your books and website, I usually have an answer for them. Bonus, the meals are healthy, keeping them satisfied longer and full of flavor and an adventure for the taste buds.

    1. Ha! I have six littles and “what can I eat?” is all I hear! Michelle’s recipes take care of that. Her cookbooks/recipes are the best. EVERY.SINGLE.ONE is amazing!

  5. HI Michelle,
Are there many “bread”/baking recipes in the book? I’ll pre-order anyways, but I thought I’d ask!
