If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard about our brand-spankin’ new book, go read this blog post first, and then head back over here.

All caught up? Good!

As you loyal Nomsters know, Henry and I threw ourselves into creating Ready or Not! to help make healthy home cooking a breeze, no matter if there’s time to prepare or just minutes to spare. Whether you’re a fastidious planner or a last-minute improviser in the kitchen, you’ll find plenty of deliciously nourishing options in our new cookbook, from make-ahead feasts and treats to lightning-fast leftover makeovers and make-now meals.

Ready or Not! is jam-packed with amazing new dishes, cheeky writing, colorful cartoons—and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Along with kitchen tool and ingredient guides, weekly dinner plans, and shopping lists, this book contains some of my favorite new recipes, including Mok Mok Wings, Chicken + Shrimp Laap, Sunday Gravy, XO Pork with Blistered Green Beans, Rustic Chocolate Cake, and many others that I’ve been dying to share with you. We spent over three years working on this book, painstakingly crafting every square inch of its 352 pages. And in the lead-up to our book launch, it’s been immensely gratifying to see the excitement of folks who received advance copies of Ready or Not!

And as I’ve said before, with the exception of our two kids, this cookbook is the best thing we’ve ever made. Really.

Are you properly hyped? Good! Now, here’s what you need to do:

1. BUY THE BOOK!

If you haven’t already purchased Ready or Not!, what are you waiting for? Here are links to just a few of the places where Ready or Not! can be purchased:

2. WRITE A REVIEW!

Once you’ve had a chance to dive into Ready or Not!, we’d appreciate it if you’d rate and review our book. Below are the links to the Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Goodreads review pages for Ready or Not!—your ratings and reviews will make a world of difference!

3. SPREAD THE WORD!

We don’t have the budget to buy ads for a big, flashy book release. Instead, as a mom ’n pop operation (literally: it’s just me and Henry!), we’re counting on grassroots sharing and positive word-of-mouth to get the news out about our book. So I have a favor to ask: Can you please help us spread the word about Ready or Not!?

If you said “yes!” without hesitation, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. You’re awesome, and to make sharing as easy as possible, we’ve pulled together a hidden treasure trove of downloadable content for you! Just hit the button below (or click here) to go to this secret page on my website:

Need additional incentive to help us share the news about our book? I have just the thing: Our friends at Instant Pot have agreed to give away a 6-quart Instant Pot Ultra ($149 value)—the fanciest new version of my favorite multi-use cooker ever—to THREE loyal Nomsters who help spread the word about Ready or Not! We’ll also throw in a bunch of exclusive Nom Nom Paleo swag for the three winners, too!

By sharing publicly about Ready or Not! on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) in the month of August 2017 and using the hashtag #READYORNOTROCKS, you’ll be automatically entered to win an Instant Pot Ultra.* Need ideas about what to share? Just head over to my sharing page to get ideas and downloadable content to post on social media! But remember: You have to use the #READYORNOTROCKS hashtag and your post has to be set to public (not private) so that we can see it and add you to the drawing for the prize packages. We’ll select the three winners on September 1, 2017, so stay tuned!

*Unfortunately, the Instant Pot won’t work outside of the U.S. and Canada. However, this sweepstakes is open to everyone, so if you’re a non-U.S. or non-Canadian Nomster and you’re picked as a winner, I’ll personally send you a $150 Amazon gift card instead!

4. COME MEET ME!

Today isn’t just the publication date of Ready or Not!—it’s also marks the kick-off of my book tour! Over the next couple of months, I’ll be visiting 30 cities across 12 states (plus a stop in Toronto!), and if you come see me, I’ll eagerly scribble all over your books and hand out some fun Nom Nom Paleo swag (while supplies last), too!

Don’t worry—I’ll be updating this page with additional events and details as soon as they’re available (including events in San Diego and Phoenix that I’m in the process of finalizing), so keep checking this page to learn if and when I’ll be in your neck of the woods. You can also email or tweet me with your suggestions for places I should go!

Okay, that’s it for now—my first book signing is just hours away, so I gotta get ready to hit the road. Wish me luck!

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.

  1. I bought your first book because of 1 delicious recipe I tried and now will be purchasing your second book because I know I will not be disappointed !

  2. Can it be bought on iBooks? (Or as an epub) – It will be a waste to put it on a b/w Kindle and I do prefer ebooks…

  3. I loved the first book so much! When I got early notification of this one I pre-ordered – way back on March 3! I received the book today and can’t wait to get into it. However, I thought there were some swag or extras available since I preordered. Am I remembering incorrectly? Believe me, it wouldn’t be the first time 🙂

    1. We had an order form to get preorder bonuses available up until August 1st. Shoot me an email at Michelle[at]nomnompaleo.com with your order number and I’ll get them to you!

  4. Sorry if you have answered this somewhere… will you be updating your app with the new recipes? I just got my book today but love the app for the list and favorites features! I can’t wait to try the roasted Dijon tarragon chicken!

  5. I’m making your XO sauce today but I couldn’t find dried scallops at my normal Asian market, I am doubling the shrimp. I hope it turns out delicious still! Have you tried it that way?

        1. I made this last night just using shrimp and it came out great! (Couldn’t find scallops either.) I also cut the fish sauce in half because I think Michelle really LOVES that stuff but it’s a bit overpowering in her recipes for our tastes… 😉

    1. Me too, I cannot find dried scallops anywhere. I went three Asian markets and two Whole Foods stores. Everyone asks if I can just use fresh or frozen. No one has heard of dried. WHERE CAN I BUY DRIED SCALLOPS? Thank you 😊

  6. I left a 5 star review on Barnes & Noble. I LOVE the new book, just packed with great information and Recipes! Beautiful photography!! I start cooking tomorrow, thanks:))

  7. I love the new book, but I have a question about the Chinese Chicken In A Pot. I am making it today, and am following the recipe exactly. It is a 4 pound chicken and after being in the oven for over 90 degrees, it was still bloody on the inside. Is the cooking temperature correct at 250 degrees?

    1. Yes, 250 F is the correct temp. Is your oven temperature accurate? Also, was your chicken super cold to begin with? Did you use a meat thermometer to check the final temp of the chicken? Sometime it can be a little pink by the bone, but the chicken is safe to eat.

  8. I ordered your new book on Amazon and got it on Friday. Holy Cow… I LOVE IT!!!!!
Was gone over the weekend and did not get a chance to use it until last night.
I made the Thai Roast Chicken. It was amazing. Thank you, Thank you.

  9. There are so many reviews on this book on Amazon. Most of them very positive. (1% of them very negative)
I am wondering if it is easy to use this book for Keto diet. One of the reviewer said it was easy. What do you say?

    1. If I were you, I would check it out from the library or bookstore so you can make an educated decision.
