Paleo Eats: 10/11/11

Tonight at the hospital, I was back to my old peckish self. For my meals at work, I chowed on a grass fed PaleoKit and leftover farmer’s pie. Did you notice, I didn’t say I was hangry? Now that I eat like a cavegirl, I rarely get ker-azy famished like I used to pre-Paleo. My hulk modes are few and far between! (Stop nodding in agreement, Fitbomb!)

When I got home in the morning, I grabbed an aged 4505 Meats's grass fed flank steak from the fridge…

…sprinkled it with seasoning salt from Spice Hound

…and dunked it in the SousVide Supreme to cook for 32 hours at 134 F.

I checked on the Kalua Pig that was simmering in the slow cooker and went to bed excited that I had the next two dinners in the bag. Well, at least one was… (Wocka wocka wocka!)

In the evening, I woke up a little later than usual (yippee!) and started making dinner. My time in the kitchen was nice and relaxed because the slow cooker Kalua pig and braised cabbage just needed a little fiddling before I brought them to the table.

Since I like at least two vegetable side dishes to serve with dinner, I roasted a tray of sliced delicata squash…

… in the toaster oven.

When the squash was soft and and caramelized…

…I shredded the Kalua Pig

…and reheated the braised cabbage in the microwave.

Here’s my dinner plate:

After dinner, I slooooooowly worked my way through the WOD Annie before I drove to work. Only two more nights to go!
