Nom Nom Paleo Book Tour! by Michelle Tam https://nomnompaleo.com

My upcoming book release party in San Francisco may be sold out, but that’s just one in a series of book tour events I’ll be doing in January. After the New Year, I’ll be meeting, greeting, and eating my way through the Bay Area, Southern California, Houston, Dallas, and the Pacific Northwest!

Yes, I know that’s just a tiny portion of the country, but I plan to visit other spots throughout the year, including Chicago, Austin, New York, Hawaii…and perhaps even venture across the ocean to a Land Down Under (where women glow and men plunder.)

But in the meantime, there are plenty of spots where you can catch up with me in January. I plan on hosting giveaways at every single event, so click on the links below for more information and to RSVP!

DECEMBER 21: PRESENTATION AT CROSSFIT CHIANG MAI (CHIANG MAI, THAILAND)

image

Yes, my tour will kick off in Thailand! It didn’t take much nudging from Mark Ritchie of CrossFit Chiang Mai to convince me to travel half a world away to stuff my face; after all, I’ve always been a gastrotourist at heart.  Besides, it’s not every day that I get a chance to tour the wet markets of Chiang Mai, visit restaurant kitchens, cook with locals, and kick back with our family. I have a feeling my visit to CrossFit Chiang Mai will be one of the highlights of my book tour, so if you find yourself in northern Thailand later this month, come see us! I’ll be doing a presentation and Q&A from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 21. Please RSVP by calling or emailing CrossFit Chiang Mai.

JANUARY 2: JOINT SIGNING AND Q&A WITH DIANA RODGERS & MELISSA JOULWAN AT CROSSFIT PALO ALTO (PALO ALTO, CA)

image

Bay Area peeps: Come kick off the New Year with a super-special joint book signing with me, Diana Rodgers (Paleo Lunches and Breakfasts On the Go), and Melissa Joulwan (Well Fed and Well Fed 2) at my favorite hometown gym, CrossFit Palo Alto! Diana and Mel aren’t just bestselling cookbook authors and leaders in the Paleo community—they’re also two of my favorite people. I’m giddy that they’re coming to the Bay Area from across the country for this signing (and for my book release party)!

I always have a blast when the three of us get together, so come join in on the fun! We plan to offer freebies and giveaways, and all of our books will be available for sale and signing, too. Please RSVP by clicking here.

JANUARY 6: SIGNING AND Q&A AT CROSSFIT INVICTUS POINT LOMA (SAN DIEGO, CA)

image

The Sea of Green just opened a brand new location! I’m thrilled to be able to sign books at Invictus Point Loma—my only San Diego-area stop in January! Copies of my book will be available for sale at the event by a local bookseller, and I’ll be hosting a special giveaway, too.

Best of all, two of my hands-down favorite real food providers, Pete’s Paleo and Paleo Treats, will be on hand to offer their insanely tasty goodies! If you’re in San Diego, don’t even think about missing this event! Please RSVP by clicking here.

JANUARY 8: SIGNING AND Q&A AT CROSSFIT 323 (LOS ANGELES, CA)

image

My sister Fiona is my culinary hero, and I miss her terribly. So every time I find myself in L.A., I want to spend every free moment in her kitchen, watching her concoct new dishes, peppering her with questions, and tasting everything in sight. Luckily, the amazing CrossFit 323 is just a stone’s throw from Fiona’s home, so I’ll be able to stroll over to the gym for my one-and-only L.A. signing instead of battling traffic on the 405! I’m also hard at work on lining up some local Paleo goodies for the event—stay tuned! Please RSVP by clicking here.

JANUARY 9: SIGNING AT MYSTERIOUS GALAXY BOOKSTORE (REDONDO BEACH, CA)

image

You may be wondering why I’m doing a cookbook event at Redondo Beach’s Mysterious Galaxy, a bookstore that caters to readers who love reading about “Martians, murder, mayhem, magic, and more.” But there’s a reason why so many authors—including cookbook authors!—love this place: it’s not just one of the best genre fiction bookstores in southern California—it’s one of the best independent bookstores PERIOD.

My visit to Redondo Beach comes on the heels of the grand opening of Mysterious Galaxy’s new bookstore café, which will offer Paleo-friendly menu items for those of you who come to my signing. Plus, I’ll be hosting a giveaway that you won’t want to miss! Please RSVP by clicking here.

JANUARY 11: SIGNING AT CORNER TABLE RESTAURANT (HOUSTON, TX)

image

You know what Paleo eaters say: When in Houston, eat at Corner Table.

An innovator in Houston’s food scene, Chef Bruce Molzan is known for the fresh, sustainable, Paleo-friendly dishes at his River Oaks restaurant, and I’m excited to be signing books at Corner Table (available for purchase on-site from Houston’s Blue Willow Bookshop) on January 11. Chef Molzan will be offering special Paleo lunch menu options at the restaurant while I’m there, too. This is my one stop in Houston, so be sure to come grab a bite with me!

JANUARY 12: SIGNING AT LINCOLN PARK BARNES & NOBLE (DALLAS, TX)

image

As a wee toddler, my husband took his first steps in Dallas (almost forty years ago!), and he’s been back many times since. But believe it or not, this will be my very first visit to Dallas, so I’m hoping at least a few of you will come welcome me at the Lincoln Park Barnes & Noble store. For my part, I’ll sign books, smile for pictures, and host a special giveaway! Deal? Please RSVP by clicking here.

JANUARY 13: DINNER EVENT & SIGNING AT HG SPLY CO. (DALLAS, TX)

image

Ready for a crazy-awesome Paleo-fest (Paleo-feast?) in Dallas? Then join us at HG Sply Co., the super-hip “back to basics” Paleo restaurant that’s got the city’s food scene buzzing about eating like a caveman. I’m teaming up with owner Elias Pope, who will be offering a special $60 five-course Paleo dinner, and an optional $20 cocktail pairing to accompany each course, featuring local spirits infused with seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients. Wowza!

Here’s a link with all the details—including a description of all the courses—and trust me: you’re definitely going to want to nab a spot at this event. Spaces are limited, so please RSVP by clicking here.

JANUARY 14: JOINT SIGNING AND Q&A WITH DIANE SANFILIPPO AT BRIDGEPORT BARNES & NOBLE (TIGARD, OR)

image

I jumped at the chance to team up with my buddy Diane Sanfilippo, bestselling author of Practical Paleo, The 21 Day Sugar Detox, and The 21 Day Sugar Detox Cookbook, for a special presentation and joint signing in Tigard, Oregon! Over the past couple of years, I’ve spent quality time with Diane in cities all across the U.S., but with our crazy schedules (and now that we live on opposite coasts), it’s still rare to find us both in the same place at the same time. Don’t pass up this opportunity to meet us while we’re together! Please RSVP by clicking here.

JANUARY 15: SIGNING AND Q&A AT CROSSFIT OREGON CITY (OREGON CITY, OR)

image

One of the very first Paleo bloggers who inspired me to start Nom Nom Paleo was Jen Cereghino of Jen’s Gone Paleo, so I’m humbled and honored to be invited to speak at her gym. I love CrossFit Oregon City (and wear my CFOC gear proudly), and can’t wait to go back!

Copies of my cookbook will be available for sale at CFOC, and I’ll be hosting a giveaway for those of you who come by to say hello. Hope to see you there! Please RSVP by clicking here.

JANUARY 16: MEET & GREET AND SIGNING + DINNER EVENT AT DEPARTURE RESTAURANT (PORTLAND, OR)

image

[**UPDATED: THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT!**]

I’m actually hosting TWO separate events at Portland’s sleek and stunning Departure Restaurant + Lounge—and you can choose to attend one or both!

  • From 6 to 7 p.m., you can come to our “meet and greet” and book signing, with Paleo bites hosted by me, Henry, and our boys! (Yes, we’re so excited about this event at Departure that Henry’s taking time off of work and pulling the kids out of school to fly to Portland to attend!) Copies of my book can be purchased on-site, and Paleo-inspired cocktails will also be available. (Note: This portion of the event is free, but reservations are required!)
  • Then, at 7 p.m., if you reserve a dinner spot, Chef Gregory Gourdet will prepare an incredible four-course modern Asian-styled Paleo meal inspired by my new cookbook! Working with local farms and grass fed meats, Chef Gourdet’s multi-course presentation will knock your socks off—and for just $62 per person. Seating is limited, so make your reservations before this event sells out!

Please RSVP for either or both events by clicking here.

JANUARY 17: SIGNING AND Q&A AT URBAN CROSSFIT (SEATTLE, WA)

image

I already know my signing and presentation at Urban CrossFit will be a highlight of my book tour—and not just ’cause Seattle happens to be one of my favorite cities to visit. It’s because Primal Pacs has generously offered to sponsor this event, and will be providing treats for everyone who shows up! Primal Pacs is also working on getting other Paleo-friendly vendors to come make this signing even more swag-tastic, so hurry up and RSVP to this event already by clicking here!

JANUARY 18: SIGNING AT NORTHGATE BARNES & NOBLE (SEATTLE, WA)

image

Who doesn’t love a Saturday morning book signing? Finish your plate of bacon and eggs, grab your friends, and get yourselves over to the Northgate Mall Barnes & Noble to meet me, Henry, and our kids (though I have a feeling Big-O and Lil-O will be wandering the aisles in search of Lego books and ghost story compilations). Please RSVP for this event by clicking here.

JANUARY 19: DEMO & SIGNING AT BOOK LARDER (SEATTLE, WA)

image

As an unrepentant cookbook hoarder, I naturally adore Book Larder, and can’t wait to meet you there! (And besides, I want to walk down to Uneeda Burger afterwards. The last time we were in Seattle, the boys went without me.)

Space is limited for my Book Larder event, so please be sure to RSVP! This talk is free. While registration isn’t required, your RSVP helps them plan the event. Please note that seating at the talk is filled on a first come, first served basis. Also, if you purchase a book at the store, you’ll get exclusive Nom Nom Paleo swag for free while supplies last.

AND THAT’S THAT FOR JANUARY, ‘cause on the 21st, I’m heading back to my regularly-scheduled program: another week of graveyard shifts at the hospital pharmacy. Drugs don’t deal themselves, you know.

(P.S. Keep checking this post! I’ll continue to update it with additional events and details as they’re finalized…)

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
