Gung Hay Fat Choy! Happy Chinese New Year everyone!

Traditionally, a good Chinese person is supposed to abstain from meat on the first day of the New Year to ensure longevity. Well, F- that!

There’s no such thing as Meatless Monday in the Nombomb household.

For breakfast, I slurped down a bowl of pressure cooker oxtail bone broth…

…and a small cup of coconut cream.

Before accompanying Lil-O to his annual physical, I seasoned a flat iron steak with Magic Mushroom Powder…

…and dunked it in the SousVide Supreme to soak for 12 hours.

At lunchtime, I braised a pot of kale in the pressure cooker…

…to accompany the leftover duck sausage and sous vide New York steak.

For dinner, I just made a batch Green Pork & Shiitake Sliders.

Since these meaty pucks contain veggies, pork, eggs, and coconut flour I didn’t waste my time making a side dish. Plus, we had no dishes to wash because we just popped the sliders into our gaping mouths as soon as they came off the skillet.

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
