I’m bushed right now. You would be too if you spent two whole days learning how to properly perform clean & jerks and snatches at Catalyst Athletics.

Here’s super quick recap of my chow today:

Before we left for the Olympic lifting seminar, I fried up some Paleo-compliant duck sausage from 4505 Meats

…and reheated leftover braised spicy kale for breakfast.

For our packed lunch, I baked a simple frittata filled with leftover emergency protein, Broccoli di Spigariello, eggs, and coconut cream.

Whenever I make a frittata with more than three eggs, I always cut an “X” in the center after it’s been in the oven for 10 minutes. If I don’t do this, the center stays gooey and the bottom gets too well-done.

I also packed a couple of Clementine tangerines and a package of U.S. Wellness Meats beef sticks for snack.

Our day at Catalyst went by really quickly as we learned all the progressions for the clean and jerk. Click here to read Fitbomb’s recap.

Look at me doing a split jerk!

Please disregard the fact that there’s less than 40 pounds above my head…

After I bid farewell to Aimee, my Twitter BFF, we came home and I fried up the black cod fillets we received from Siren SeaSA.

We gobbled up the fish because we were starving plus we knew that there’d be no Whole30-compliant proteins at the Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner at my in-laws. Thanks to our Paleo cousins, T & D, I was able to pile a plate with Melicious’s Cumin-Roasted Carrots and Cocoa-Toasted Cauliflower, and fruit salad at dinnertime. Yay!

Time for a shower and some sleep. I smell ripe.

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
