Egads! Our Hawaiian vacation is almost over!

Since we’re leaving on Saturday, I tried to cook off a lot of the perishables in our fridge. For breakfast, I fried up two pounds of mini burgers; sautéed cabbage, onions, and Alii mushrooms; and sliced the rest of our tomatoes. I put hubby in charge of mashing up some guacamole and he delivered a big bowl of yumminess, as usual.

In the morning, we ventured to touristy Old Lahaina Town to act like a bunch of annoying mainlanders.

We hit the Wo Hing Museum and Banyan Tree Park, and wandered into a bunch of tchotchke shops lining Front Street.

Avert your eyes! Here’s photographic evidence that we served our kids sugary poison:

At noon, we stopped at Cilantro Grill to grab some lunch. We split a whole rotisserie chicken and a side salad with extra avocado.

Afterwards, we came back and lazed by the pool.

We ate dinner early tonight because we had tickets to see Ulalena, a stage show about Hawaii’s history filled with singing, dancing, and aerialists.

I made a quick crab salad with canned crab, lime juice, seasoned salt, guacamole, and diced avocados…

Fitbomb also cut up a pineapple for dessert.

The show was lots of fun and the kids were so excited to take pictures with the actors and dancers. “Mommy, look! Famous people!”

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
