My night shift wasn’t too hectic tonight because my work-husband/co-worker is back from his hedonistic Octoberfest vacation in Germany. Since I like to nag, I chided him for guzzling and ingesting tons of alcohol and gluten. I could tell he was simply thrilled to be back.

For my chow at work, I ate leftover sous vide pork chop and frozen broccoli, a small container of coconut milk, a green chicken thigh, and tomato salad.

When I returned home from work, I finished making the filling for Farmer’s Pie (check out this post to see the whole process)…

…despite being repeatedly harassed by a certain four-eyed spider.

After I stored the casserole filling in the refrigerator, I slept the afternoon away.

When I woke up in the evening, I layered the mashed cauliflower on top of the farmer’s pie and popped it in the oven.

I was too lazy to make a complicated side dish so I chopped up a few heirloom tomatoes and called it a day.

Here’s my dinner plate:

After supper, we tucked the Double-O’s in bed before Fitbomb and I tag-teamed the erg in the garage. Rowing ain’t my favorite but it enables me to squeeze in a quick workout when I’m short on time.

Then, it was off to work yet again! Only five more nights to go!

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
