Ai ya! I’ve got a bunch of homework to do for my food writing class tomorrow night, so this post will be a quickie! Once a procrastinator, always a procrastinator…

Before leaving for the women’s class at CrossFit Palo Alto, I chowed on half a 4505 Meats Portugese linguica, nuked frozen broccoli, and chopped heirloom tomatoes.

Post work-out, I ate half a nuked sweet potato and the rest of Dr. HA’s tasty meatballs.

For lunch, I made myself a frittata with spinach and mushrooms that I topped with sliced tomatoes.

I’m so sad that tomato season is coming to an end! On the other hand, I’m totally thrilled that the weather’s getting nippier ‘cause that means it’ll be easier to fall asleep during the day. Yes, only a night shift worker would welcome cold and stormy weather.

At dinnertime, I used the SousVide Supreme to reheat a few pork chops I’d cooked and frozen during last week’s meatastrophe. After an hour of soaking, I took them out and seared them in smoking bacon grease. I sauteed some shallots and spinach in the empty pan and nuked a bowl of Rao’s marinara sauce to accompany the chops.

Here’s my dinner plate:

Time to hit the books and my pillow!

About Michelle Tam

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals.
